SEAR NCD India

August 21-23

1st SEAR NCDs Conference 2024

Every 2 seconds, someone under the age of 70 dies due to an NCD; 86 % of premature deaths due to NCDs happen in LMI countries, where socio-economic and environmental factors offer far less protection against NCD risks compared to high-income nations. In addition, compared to the other WHO regions, NCDs claim lives in SEAR at a younger age, during the productive years of life.

Against this backdrop, the 1st SEAR NCD Conference is being organized to reflect on the issues fueling NCDs and their risk factors, and integrate commitments to prevent and control NCDs. The agenda will explore multi-sectoral and community engagement, including critical issues relating to gender

The 1st SEAR NCDs conference 2024 will offer insights and recommendations to inform policy decisions and actions for the UNHLM-NCD in 2025, fostering international cooperation to address NCDs effectively
